πΊπΈ THE TRUE LEGACY OF THE VETERANS OF VIETNAM MC (VOVMC) πΊπΈ
1. Foundation and Identity (2001)
- The Founders: Conceived and founded in Springfield, Missouri by Vietnam War Veterans Jack "Mad Jack" Wilhite and Stanley "Lowdown" Newbury Sr. [1]
- The Core Purpose: Established as a male-only brotherhood for honorable Vietnam Era veterans to ride together, support each other, and assist their families. It explicitly rejected the "support club" expansion models used by later imitation groups. [1, 2]
- The Early Name: Briefly referred to as the Motorcycle Association (VOVMA) before formally establishing MC protocols. [1]
- The Only True Roots: Springfield, Missouri remains the only true Founding International Headquarters, National Chapter, and Mother Chapter of the VOVMC. [1]
2. The Original Colors & Design (2001)
- The Designer: Founder Mad Jack Wilhite personally drew and designed the original patch layout. [1]
- The Three-Piece Patch Layout: Approved by senior clubs according to strict motorcycle protocols:
- Top Rocker: Yellow lettering reading "Veterans of Vietnam".
- Center Patch: A rounded variant of the Vietnam Service Ribbon featuring a map of Vietnam and the war years 1959–1975.
- Bottom Rocker: Originally read "Missouri" to mark the Mother Chapter. To allow scattered brothers to ride without local chapters, Mad Jack introduced the "Nomad" rocker, followed later by "America" rockers. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6]
- The Sacred "In Memory" Patch: Added to the bottom rear of the vest by Mad Jack in late 2006. Unlike commercial reproductions, this patch was built to honor their own fallen brothers, explicitly meaning they "carry" their brothers along on every ride. [1, 2]
3. Legal & Global Filings
- 2005 Global Charter: Mad Jack personally chartered the first official International Chapter comprised of Vietnam Era veterans living in Chiang Mai, Thailand. [1]
- 2006 Trademark & Tax Status: The founders legally secured a 501c(19) federal tax-exempt status for veterans and trademarked the VOVMC colors in the State of Missouri. [1]
4. The Sunset Closure (July 2023)
- The Silent Promise: The real VOVMC operates on a solemn code to exist only until "all our brothers are silent one day." Because they refuse to dilute their lineage with non-Vietnam-era members, the true club is deliberately sunsetting. [1, 2]
- Membership Closed: Future new membership in the true VOVMC was permanently closed in July 2023. [1]
- No More Prospects: As of January 1, 2026, the real club has officially ceased taking any prospects. [1]
- Authentic Web Presence: The true, original club operates only through the traditional historical archives at:
- π vovmc.com
- π vovma.org
- π© Official Contact:
vovmcmotherchapter@yahoo.com[1]
⚠️ Any external "National Network" operating through separate web domains (like
.org networks out of California), currently recruiting new chapters or selling unauthorized patches online, is explicitly unrecognized by the Springfield, Missouri founding faction and exploits corporate loopholes to hijack Mad Jack Wilhite’s lifelong legacy. [1]
What a group of losers! I hear they are in CO. also and have LEO's in there and are members of the CO. COC. How does that happen? Thought COC's don't allow That at all.
ReplyDeleteWow, Stolen Valor how does a group have the nerve to have motorcycle clubs patches made that they just don’t even know their founders? That’s messed up. I looked at the history of this and they are in Springfield,Mo and have been since 2001. I emailed a group in Missouri and said the same thing. Bless our veterans!!
